The local government unit of Manila will start to distribute gadgets and pocket WiFi units next week to students and teachers. As posted on Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno's Facebook page, his team will begin the delivery of Avita laptops and Cherry Mobile Magnum 8 and Magnum 10 tablets to public school teachers and students in preparation for blended online learning and to help them adapt to the new normal. The initiative is made possible with the city's official gadgets partner, Cherry Mobile. Teachers in Manila will also receive Globe LTE pocket WiFi units. Manila City now charges a flat-rate parking fee for all vehicles in accordance with the City Ordinance 7988 issued by the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau. Approved last May 25, 2020, the ordinance establishes a standardized parking fee for all vehicles in the city. In partnership with the local government unit (LGU) of the City of Manila, the telco was able to begin its rollout of fiber optic cables making Binondo as the 1st Globe Connected District. Apart from fiber optics, the telco will also roll out small cell technology around the district to expand the coverage and capacity of their 3G and LTE network.
