According to Microsoft, the new Microsoft Defender app helps individuals manage and view security protections from a single easy-to-use, centralized dashboard by linking to your Microsoft account across your devices. Depending on the operating system, Microsoft Defender will have some variations. On Windows and macOS, Microsoft Defender works alongside other antivirus software such as Norton or McAfee while providing web protection. The Microsoft Defender app is now available to download for free on all four major platforms but requires a Microsoft 365 Family or Personal subscription. Microsoft says that it will continue bringing more protection and features to help simplify online security for you and your family. Microsoft has announced to completely remove the Adobe Flash component from Windows through the KB4577586 "Update for Removal of Adobe Flash Player" starting June 2021. In July 2017, Microsoft, along with Adobe and their industry technology partners, announced that Adobe Flash Player would no longer be supported after December 2020.
