NVIDIA is definitely taking a huge leap by introducing its big format gaming displays or BFGDs at CES. NVIDIA's BFGDs feature the latest G-SYNC HDR technology that synchronizes the display’s 120Hz refresh rate. Apart from that, BFGDs are bundled with NVIDIA Shield which means users can switch from gaming to streaming their favorite content with popular streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, and Hulu. According to NVIDIA, availability of BFGDs are expected this Summer in the US, when pricing and the rest of its specs are announced prior to its official launch. The Tegra K1 powered NVidia Shield tablet is now official and will be priced competitively (starts at $299) and will have an optional wireless controller. The Shield tablet will be NVidia's opportunity to showcase its most powerful mobile procesor, the Tegra K1. Earlier today, NVidia announced that they will be rolling out a firmware update for their popular Android-based gaming console which brings all the good stuff that Android KitKat has to offer, as well as a new feature called Remote GameStream. Speaking of additional features, the firmware update will also enable the NVidia Shield to support wireless mice/keyboards which will certainly come in handy when the Shield is on Console Mode.
