Google has started rolling out offline support for Google Maps on Wear OS, as announced alongside the Pixel Watch 3. This new feature allows users to access maps on their smartwatch even when they don’t have an internet connection. After updating the app, users will find that offline maps from their phone are automatically downloaded to their watch. A new "Offline maps" page appears just above the Settings menu, where users can see how much space these maps take up and can delete them if needed. The watch app not only downloads a map for your current area but also syncs any offline maps you’ve already saved on your phone. When offline, the map view will display a slashed cloud icon next to the time, indicating that you’re using offline maps. This feature is currently available in version 11.140.0701.W of Google Maps for Wear OS on the Pixel Watch 2, and it’s also accessible to those enrolled in the public Google Maps beta.
