US-based speed analytics firm Ookla has reported that the fixed broadband internet speed in the Philippines increased in February, while the mobile internet speeds experienced a slight drop. In Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, the country's fixed broadband median speed rose from 88.13 Mbps in January to 90.03 Mbps in February. However, the download speed for mobile internet decreased slightly dipped from 24.59 Mbps to 24.58 Mbps. Despite the slight decrease, the Philippines climbed two spots in the ranking for mobile internet speed, now at 80th among 137 countries. The country also improved its ranking for fixed broadband internet speed, now at 40th among 180 countries. has been named the Philippines’ fastest internet provider for 2025 by Ookla, marking its third consecutive year at the top of the global network intelligence firm’s rankings. Based on Ookla Speedtest Intelligence data for the first half of 2025, Converge earned the title of Fastest Fixed Network with a Speed Score of 63.46. The fiber broadband provider also received several other key citations, including Best Video Experience with a Video Score of 75.60, Best Internet for Gaming with a Game Score of 82.33, and Best Fixed Network for overall reliability and consistency, reflected in a Connectivity Score of 73.77.
