Opera has officially launched Neon, a new subscription-based browser that integrates agentic AI features designed to handle tasks directly within the browsing experience. Unlike traditional browsers, Neon can open and close tabs, compare data across multiple sources, and complete transactions on behalf of users. The browser positions Opera against competitors like Perplexity’s Comet Browser and The Browser Company’s Dia Browser. Opera confirmed Neon will remain a standalone product, though select features may be integrated into its flagship browser. Opera has just announced the integration of AI-generated content services into its browser on both PC and mobile. Beginning with the integration of ChatGPT into their browser's sidebar. According to The Verge, Opera will begin rolling out its Shorten feature to users very soon.
