Pentax had to source parts for subsystems like film transport that are no longer in regular manufacturing. Initial plans call for a simple design emphasizing the hands-on experience of shooting with film. Rather than competing on specs, Pentax wants to offer a fun and accessible camera that can attract newcomers. But Pentax has proven they are taking the demands of film photographers seriously. Fujifilm has announced its entry-level offering for its premium X-Series line of digital cameras that features a 16.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and an EXR Processor II- the Fujifilm X-A1.
