PLDT has announced that it has partnered with NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Corporation, the largest telecommunications company in Japan, to boost its global network infrastructure using the 100Gbps connectivity. The 100Gbps (gigabit-per-second) "ultra-bandwidth" connectivity will be powered by NTT Com’s Tier 1 Global IP backbone, which is expected to help PLDT carry large volumes of global IP traffic. PLDT is in talks with Japan’s Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) to sell up to 49% of their data center business. PLDT declined to comment on this, while NTT did not respond to requests for any comments either. The two companies have also collaborated prior, boosting the Philippines' global network infrastructure with NTT's ultra-bandwidth connectivity reaching up to 100Gbps.
