He says that it’s ‘abnormal’ for a prepaid user to register over 10 SIMs, unless they are using them for malicious activities. DICT initially proposed a limit of five SIMs, but telco providers agreed to a SIM registration limit of 10. “We don’t need to amend [the SIM registration law], because the safeguards are there,” said Ramos. As of July 30—the end of SIM registration period—NTC data showed a total of 113.9 million registered SIMs. The GOMO Prepaid eSIM is now available in the Philippines.
