MMDA will start to restrict provincial buses traveling in EDSA in mid-July to prevent massive traffic that would occur due to the road projects currently in construction this month. Provincial buses will not be barred from traveling in EDSA completely as they will only be restricted on a specific weekly timeslot. Starting on July 15, 2018, Northbound and Southbound provincial buses cannot traverse Cubao to Pasay sections of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) from 5:00 am to 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on weekdays. (Monday to Friday) With that said, MMDA chair Danilo Lim said this would reduce the number of buses running EDSA routes to 2,000. Provincial buses would be exempted, however, from the number coding scheme during the said time slots.
