It locks your files and gives you two options of decrypting them -- Play PUBG for one hour, or enter the restore code. Looking at how PUBG Ransomware actually works, it's not really intended to be a harmful piece of malware, and is better suited to be called jokeware. Marcus Hutchins, also known as "Malware Tech" on Twitter, has been charged in the US for allegedly creating the Kronos malware. The malware is hitting banks and steals login and financial credentials from victims' computers. It has been said that he created the malware, and sold it on the dark web market called "Alphabay" which was been taken down just recently.
