Looking ahead, the team hopes to expand TrainSight beyond rail systems by adding real-time tracking for road-based public transportation, including public buses. Commuters on the LRT-2 can now pay their fares using contactless payment methods after RCBC, in partnership with Visa, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), and the Department of Transportation (DOTr), officially activated tap-to-pay at station turnstiles. The rollout is part of ongoing efforts to modernize public transportation and encourage the use of digital payments in the Philippines. The launch adds another cashless payment option for commuters and supports the government's push for more convenient and digital public transport services. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) launched the payment method at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange as part of the government’s Automatic Fare Collection System proof of concept. The initiative aims to modernize public transport payments while giving commuters faster and more flexible ways to pay. The setup also reduces cash handling and supports the broader push for standardized digital payments in public transportation.
