#q1 2017 revenues

The country's top telcos, Globe Telecom and PLDT, has released their revenue reports for the first quarter of 2017. Globe Telecom Globe closed Q1 2017 with a record level consolidated revenues of Php31.1 billion, which is 4% higher than Q1 2016's Php30.0 billion. It's also Php62 million higher than prior quarter's all-time high revenues. Mobile revenues are at Php23.8 billion as of the end of March 2017, which is up 3% year-on-year, from the Php23.1 billion from last year. The telco also sees mobile data as its biggest contributor to mobile revenues. Globe Telecom's mobile subscriber base stands at 58.6 million for Q1 2017, which is a 2% increase from the 57.3 million subscribers from last year. PLDT posted the unaudited financial and operating results for the first quarter of 2017 with consolidated service revenues (net of interconnection costs) at Php35.6 billion. Although higher than Globe's posted revenue for the quarter, this is 7% less than the services revenues year-on-year but only 1% lower than service revenues in the fourth quarter of 2016.
