Along with the new Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC for wearables, Qualcomm also announced three new processors for mobile devices - the Snapdragon 625, 435 and 425. The three new Snapdragon processors support LTE connectivity with carreir aggregation, Snapdragon All Mode, 802.11ac with MU-MIMO, dual camera image signal processors (ISPs), Qualcomm TruSignal technology for improved call reliability, Qualcomm Hexagon DSP for power efficient audio with sensor hub, and Qualcomm Quick Charge. The Snapdragon 625, being the leader of the pack, is the first in its class to use 14 nm FinFET technology allowing a 35 percent reduction in power consumption compared to the previous generation. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300. Qualcomm said laptops powered by Snapdragon C are expected to launch later this year from brands including Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. According to Qualcomm, upcoming devices powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will come from brands including HONOR and REDMI.
