During the Snapdragon Summit 2022, Qualcomm unveiled the name of our next-generation CPU for Snapdragon platforms -- Qualcomm Oryon. This is Qualcomm's newly-designed custom CPU core. With the Oryon CPU, Qualcomm will design and create its own CPU in the hopes of producing more powerful and efficient chipsets. Qualcomm also announced earlier this week the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which is still based on the Kyro CPU. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300. Qualcomm said laptops powered by Snapdragon C are expected to launch later this year from brands including Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity.
