The QTM052 mmWave antenna module paired with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem makes it possible to integrate mmWave signals in a smartphone despite the fact that it not used for mobile wireless connections due to complications with its design. The Qualcomm QPM56xx module family (QPM5650, QPM5651, QDM5650, QDM5652) allows smartphones with an integrated Snapdragon X50 5G modem to support the said spectrum band. Apart from the Snapdragon 636, Qualcomm also announced its new Snapdragon X50 5G modem chipset for mobile devices. The Snapdragon X50 5G modem achieved gigabit download speeds, using several 100 MHz 5G carriers, and demonstrated a data connection in 28 GHz millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem family is expected to launch on 5G smartphones and networks in the first half of 2019. Qualcomm has announced that its annual Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 22 to 24, 2026, in Hawaii, where the company is expected to introduce its next-generation Snapdragon processors. While Qualcomm has not officially confirmed the products that will be unveiled during the summit, the Snapdragon Summit has traditionally served as the company's stage for introducing its flagship mobile platforms. Industry reports also suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series could be Qualcomm's first flagship mobile processors manufactured using a 2nm process, although the company has yet to confirm the manufacturing details or pricing.
