At CES 2020, Western Digital's SanDisk unveiled an 8TB SSD prototype and a 1TB USB Type-C dual-drive. The 8TB SSD will come in a small, pocket-sized form and will support 20Gbps speeds over USB. SanDisk also unveiled a 1TB dual connector drive that works with USB Type-C smartphones and laptops. The SanDisk 1 TB Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C Flash Drive is expected to be available at a later date this quarter, with prices starting at USD 10.99 for the 32GB model, while the 1TB model is priced at USD 249.99 The WD_Black P50 Game Drive can now be purchased with a base price of USD 179.99 (500 GB). Western Digital's SanDisk plans on launching the first 8TB secure digital (SD) card and 16TB external solid-state drive (SSD). SanDisk will soon have the world's first 4TB microSDUC, 8TB SD card and 16TB external SSD. There is no official pricing yet for these storage devices, but with the SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I is priced at around USD 139.00, we should expect these future devices to come with a heavy price tag.
