NVIDIA's powerful Android TV device gets a 2017 update and like before, it places itself again on the top. The new Shield TV gets an updated design and support for 4K HDR streaming. It can do 4K contents from Netflix, Google Play Movies, Vudu, and Amazon Video with HDR support. If you own an older Shield TV, no need to worry as it'll receive a software update sometime this month. Of course, the new Shield TV now has SmartThings integrated for control of smart home appliances. A Shield TV Pro will also be available later this month with a controller, remote with headset jack and 500GB of storage. NVIDIA has introduces the new SHIELD, the world's first Android TV console that can deliver 4K content and powered by the company's recently launched Tegra X1 processor. The NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV Console can play 4K video content and works with NVIDIA GRID - a gaming service that streams popular PC games to the SHIELD. More than 50 Android titles optimized for SHIELD will be available for download and purchase including AAA titles like Crysis 3, Doom 3®: BFG Edition, Borderlands: TPS, Batman: Arkham Origins, GRID 2 and Metro: Last Light Redux.
