Back in March, we heard reports that Apple was looking to let the next generation of Siri work with third-party AI bots. Based on reports by The Information, the brand is looking to shift how Siri handles large-scale cloud requests. Because the data remains encrypted even during live calculations, neither Google nor NVIDIA can actually see or log the contents of the Siri prompts. This three-way partnership will allow the completely overhauled Siri to handle far more complex tasks. Consumers can expect to see the very first iteration of this smarter, Gemini-powered Siri debut this coming September alongside the launch of iOS 27 and the next-generation iPhone lineup. Apple is close to making a deal to pay Google about $1 billion every year to use Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence model to improve Siri, according to a report from Bloomberg. The report says Apple’s current technology is not yet strong enough to handle the big features it wants to add to Siri. Using Google’s Gemini would help Siri answer questions better and respond in a more natural way.
