For the past two days, this blog has been experiencing several erratic downtimes and internal server errors. We have scheduled for the primary hard drive to be replaced this week-end (Friday night the soonest) so expect an extended downtime around that day. The website of the Senate of the Philippines was reportedly targeted by a cyberattack on June 10, with local hacktivist group Nullsec Philippines claiming responsibility for the incident. According to the group, it somehow gained unauthorized access to the website and then changed its content, such as by posting a message calling for more transparency, accountability, and action against government corruption. Officials emphasized that the website primarily hosts publicly accessible documents and other information intended for public viewing, so, in their view, nothing private was compromised. An investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the breach and strengthen the website’s security measures. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched a new website where the public can directly report misbehaving drivers. The website allows users to report cases such as road rage, hit-and-run incidents, colorum vehicles, and other traffic violations.
