Smart has silently released the GIGA PRO data promo for its prepaid subscribers. It offers 3GB of data allocation daily to GIGA STORIES, GIGA VIDEO, GIGA GAMES, GIGA STUDY, and GIGA WORK promos, increasing its data allocation by 2GB from 1GB for the regular Giga promos. Starting at 6GB for PHP 199, the promo is exclusively available through the Smart App which is free for download on iOS and Android devices. Smart Postpaid subscribers who purchase qualified boosters for their postpaid plan between May 27 and May 31 will receive 3 GB of open access data, valid for 30 days. Surprisingly, very few people are using PLDT WeRoam -- a service which has practically been supplanted by SmartBro Mobile 3G. uMobile on the other hand, though an autonomous telco is still considered a Smart/PLDT property and their free ad-supported 3G services will certainly bump up their total numbers. Smart Communications is at the forefront of a steady rise in average monthly 5G data traffic in 2023. Smart’s average quarterly 5G data traffic nearly doubled in 2023, increasing by 95% in comparison to 2022. For the last quarter of 2023 alone, Smart recorded a 16% increase in monthly data traffic on their 5G network.
