The next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is set to be announced and launched on October 24, and now it has made an appearance on Geekbench along with the Samsung S24+. This gives it roughly a 20% gain on both parameters when compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and slightly on par with the A16 Bionic chip on the iPhone 14 Pro models. [caption id="attachment_341988" align="alignnone" width="576"] Snapdragon 8 Gen 3[/caption] According to the listing, it shows the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with a 1+3+2+2 configuration with one Cortex-X4 core 3.3 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 3.15 GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.96 GHz, two Cortex-A520 cores running at 2.27 GHz. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is also said to feature the Adreno 750 GPU with a 50% boost in performance over the previous Adreno 740. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 can deliver up to 77% better GPU performance and supports 90FPS gameplay which is a first for the first time in the Snapdragon 4 series. According to Qualcomm, upcoming devices powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will come from brands including HONOR and REDMI.
