Sony has just confirmed that it's joining the Firefox OS bandwagon as its engineers are already developing device/s for the said mobile OS with a planned release in 2014. The news came from Sony Mobile after they have announced a multi-year partnership with the Spanish wireless carrier Telefonica. "At Sony Mobile we continue to evaluate innovative technologies that can help deliver the premium user experiences that Sony’s consumers expect," said Bob Ishida, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of Products Business Group, Sony Mobile Communications. "Our engineers are now working with Firefox OS Mobile and HTML5, evolving technologies which show great potential. With Sony joining its growing list of device manufacturers like ZTE, Huawei, Alcatel and LG, Firefox OS should turn out to be very exciting.
