Spotify started rolling out a new conversational experience that lets eligible Premium users interact with the app using voice or text. Users can ask Spotify to play music based on their preferences, suggest brand-new artists, save songs, slot tracks into the queue, or even answer questions about what they’re listening to. The beta is available in English for Premium users aged 18 and above in the U.S., Ireland, and Sweden on Spotify’s Android and iOS apps. Spotify is making it easier for everyone to listen to podcasts thanks to the help of AI. But with the use of AI, Spotify will now be able to translate the podcast into your native language. Spotify says the AI voice will match the original speaker’s style of speaking, “making for a more authentic listening experience”. “We believe that a thoughtful approach to AI can help build deeper connections between listeners and creators, a key component of Spotify’s mission to unlock the potential of human creativity.” Spotify says voice-translated episodes from pilot creators will be available worldwide to Premium and Free users. Spotify has just announced yesterday, June 20, that its monthly active user base has sailed past the 100 million mark for the first time, up from 75 million a few months ago.
