Converge plans to fully launch its Surf2Sawa prepaid service by June this year. Surf2Sawa is Converge's prepaid fiber-to-the-home plan for Filipinos looking for “sachet” or “tingi” offerings. With Surf2Sawa, customers will have top-up options such as P700 for 30-day unlimited connectivity, P380 for a 15-day subscription, P200 for a seven-day unlimited internet, and P50 for a one-day subscription. Two US-based satellite internet providers are expected to launch in the Philippines this year, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology. Their entry is expected to help improve internet access in underserved areas as the government continues efforts to expand connectivity across the country. Globe AT HOME is giving eligible customers free internet speed boosts of up to 1Gbps along with free WiFi 6 modem upgrades to help improve home connectivity for work, school, and entertainment. The company added that the initiative is part of its effort to support families by improving access to reliable internet services while helping them stay productive and connected at home. PLDT has started offering faster home internet with speeds of up to 300 Mbps under its PLDT Home Fiber Prepaid service.
