The NVidia Shield sports the very first Tegra 4 chip we've ever tried so we did an initial benchmark to see how it fares with the other processors like the Snapdragon 800 and the Exynos Octa. We used the standard bench we do on every smartphone or tablet we review -- Antutu Benchmark, Quadrant Standard, Nenamark 2 and Velamo. For Quardrant Standard, the Tegra 4 chip got a score of 18,867. This is where the Tegra 4 posted a huge difference between the two. For Nenamark 2, the Tegra 4 got 60.0fps (which we think is the limit placed by the device for on-screen frame rates). The Tegra 4 chip scored 2,830 on HTML 5 and 1186 on Metal with Vellamo. Under Vellamo benchmark, we got a score of 2732 on HTML and 965 on Metal for the Snapdragon 800 while the Exynos 5420 Octa got 2,765 (HTML5) and 1,307 (Metal).
