Globe has officially launched Starlink's satellite-to-mobile service in the Philippines after receiving approval from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), making it the first local telecom operator to commercially offer direct-to-device satellite connectivity in the country. The company recently used the technology following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that affected South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani. Among major telcos, Dito Telecommunity posted the highest VoLTE penetration at 41.9%, followed by Smart Communications at 31.7% and Globe Telecom at 27.4%.
