Popular torrent site The Pirate Bay and its affiliate websites go offline after its data center had been raided by the Swedish police yesterday, December 9. According to Torrent Freak, Swedish authorities have confirmed that their local police carried out a raid in Stockholm yesterday as part of an operation to protect intellectual property. Along with The Pirate bay, several affilites such as Suprbay and, Pastebay, and other torrent websites EZTV, Zoink, Torrage and the Istole tracker went offline. Source Update: The Pirate bay has resurfaced online at https://thepiratebay.cr/ A few of these websites claiming to be TPB revivals have been debunked as spam or phising sites. For a couple of years now, I have been using a number of torrent sites to download stuff -- they are mostly TV series or movies I haven't seen in theaters. I also bought a HD media player (HDX NMT 1000) a couple of months with 1TB HDD because it has a built-in bittorrent client that downloads directly into the device (I no longer need a PC for that). So now, I have been in the look out for a new torrent search service. At the moment, I am looking at this new one call Kick Ass Torrents.
