Just when we thought that Acer already took the crown for having one the cheapest Windows-powered tablets in town in the form of the new Iconia Tab 8 W, Toshiba announces an even cheaper tablet running on Windows 8.1, the Encore Mini, which will only retail for USD119 when it becomes available later this month. The Encore Mini has a smaller display than the Iconia Tab 8 W and with a lower resolution too. Despite of its shortcomings, the new Toshiba Encore Mini should still be in the list of budget-conscious consumers who are in the market for an affordable tablet running on Windows. Spotted on the homepage of the HP Shopping site, the Mini 1000 will start at $399.99 for the basic specs.
