Tumblr says it is working to restore access for users in the Philippines. In a post on its official blog, Tumblr said the Philippine government has now moved to restore access after numerous users have reported the issue. It stated that Tumblr was "not licensed by Philippine authorities." The message also included links to gambling websites approved by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). The incident caused confusion among local users since Tumblr is primarily known as a blogging and social media platform and not related to online gambling services. This means nearly seven in 10 mobile users are still dependent on legacy 3G services ahead of the government-mandated shutdown of 3G networks by the end of 2026.
