Tumblr says it is working to restore access for users in the Philippines. This is after the platform was unexpectedly blocked earlier this week.

In a post on its official blog, Tumblr said the Philippine government has now moved to restore access after numerous users have reported the issue.
According to the company, access for users in the Philippines should return soon if it has not already been restored.
Earlier this week, Filipino users reported that opening the site displayed a notice from the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC). It stated that Tumblr was “not licensed by Philippine authorities.”

The message also included links to gambling websites approved by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
The incident caused confusion among local users since Tumblr is primarily known as a blogging and social media platform and not related to online gambling services.
