Western Union and G-Xchange Inc. now enables consumers to receive Western Union international or domestic money transfers into their registered GCash wallets 24/7. “Western Union is delivering on our pledge to expand more digital and physical channels for money transfers to provide choice and more convenience for our customers,” said Bassem Awada, Western Union Regional Vice President for Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Brunei. After registration, they can now receive Western Union money transfers into their GCash wallet by simply typing in the unique tracking number (MTCN). Western Union has officially launched its first mobile app in the Philippines, making the country the first market worldwide to support both sending and receiving international money transfers in a single platform. The app links to Western Union’s extensive network of bank accounts, digital wallets, and agent outlets across the globe. By rolling out this feature first in the Philippines, Western Union positions the country as a testbed for its fully integrated digital remittance service.
