Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has partnered with Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. (RRHI) to launch a barcode-enabled cash deposit service. It lets customers to deposit money into BPI accounts through participating retail stores nationwide.

The service was officially introduced during the Sun and Fun Fair in Boracay held from April 19 to 21, 2026. According to BPI, the feature will be available in more than 1,000 RRHI stores nationwide by the end of the year.
Using the BPI mobile app, customers can generate a barcode through the ‘Partner store transactions’ section under the More tab. Users can choose whether to deposit to their own account or another BPI account, enter the amount and present the generated barcode to a cashier at participating stores within one hour.
BPI said customers can deposit up to PHP 15,000 per transaction and up to five times daily depending on store limits. Transactions are free of charge and do not require a debit card.

“By enabling partners to facilitate barcode-enabled deposits and withdrawals, as well as account openings and product applications just by scanning a QR code, we are bringing full-service banking to any community in the Philippines—even the most remote islands,” said Rally Jereza, head of BPI Agency Banking.
Christine Tueres, managing director of RRHI, said: “Our partnership with BPI allows us to go beyond retail by offering convenient, accessible financial services within our stores, making essential transactions like deposits and withdrawals part of our customers’ regular shopping routines,” she said.
BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco also conducted the first barcode deposit transaction at The Marketplace in Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati City.
