#X audio and video calling

X (formerly Twitter) is apparently rolling out new communication features including audio and video calling within the app. While the platform has not officially announced the new feature yet, several users have already received a notification, “Audio and Video calls are here!” It’s not enabled by default; thus users will have to enable the feature through in-app settings. Tapping the phone icon in the upper right of a conversation will bring a dropdown menu for an audio or video call. WhatsApp has announced several new calling features, headlined by the addition of audio and video calling on WhatsApp Web, allowing users to make and receive calls directly from their browser without installing the desktop application. The new web calling feature supports both one-on-one and group calls, making it easier for users on shared computers, work laptops, or devices that don't allow app installations to join conversations. Meanwhile, the new Noise Suppression feature helps reduce background noise during voice and video calls, making conversations clearer in noisy environments. WhatsApp says these new calling features are rolling out gradually and will become available to all users in the coming weeks. Roblox is shutting down Roblox Connect, its avatar-based video calling feature introduced in 2023, according to a report by The Verge.
