Xiaomi's midrange flagship line, the Civi series, is rumored to have its latest iteration announced soon. Here's what we know so far about the Xiaomi Civi 6 and 6 Pro. Let's start with power: The Civi 6 Pro will allegedly shelter the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 as its beating heart. That's a step up from the 8s Gen 4 in the previous Civi 5 Pro. On the other hand, the base Civi 6 will come with slightly lower specs: the Dimensity 8500, a 6.59-inch display, and slightly lower zoom on its periscope camera at 3x. Government agencies and civil society groups welcomed the updates but noted that more measures may still be needed to address issues such as harmful content, misinformation, and cybercrime affecting children and teenagers online.
