Globe, Smart issue advisories regarding services during APEC

Listen to article

In-line with the ongoing Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, the country’s top telecommunications companies – Globe Telecom and Smart Communications, have issued public advisories regarding their services.

In a post on their social media channels, Globe clarified that there is no truth to the social media posts and SMS that there would be downtimes to their services or outright loss of service. Globe added that only NTC can make the official announcements regarding the matter and they will immediately advise its customers through its officially channels as soon as the NTC issues a directive.

Smart and Sun, on the other hand, assured that their services are operating normally. However, the telco said that services may be affected in some areas by public safety measures being undertaken for the APEC Summit.

The APEC 2015 Summit will happen on November 18 to 19 and will be attended by leaders from 21 countries including the Philippines, United States, and China.

This APEC should have been done in Subic just like what Fidel Ramos did to avoid this massive inconvenience and for the security of all. Poorly planned, malamya talaga si BS Aquino.
