Feedster heeds the challenge of Calacanis for the Top500 Blog and released it recently. This was their answer to Technorati’s Top 100. We’ll let the bloggers decide which one is more credible.
I was scanning the list hoping one or two Philippine blogs might have made it to the Top 500. Sorry folks, maybe the Top 1000. :D
So I took some time to check how some of us fared against the list. Here’s the summary of the quick search:
Technorati
No. 100 – 1,827 links
HouseonaHill.net – Rank: 1,312 (635 links from 467 sites)
PinoyBlog – Rank: 1,539 (549 links from 421 sites)
kwentongtambay.nicanordavid.com Rank: 2,739 (409 links from 298 sites)
Rebelpixel.com – Rank: 4,761 (265 links from 204 sites)
PinoyCook.net – Rank: 6,832 (240 links from 159 sites)
DeanAlfar.blogspot.com – Rank: 9,921 (152 links from 123 sites)
JoveFrancisco.blogspot.com – Rank: 10,280 (141 links from 120 sites)
JonasDiego.blogspot.com – Rank: 10,908 (155 links from 115 sites)
Quezon.ph – Rank: 12,712 (123 links from 104 sites)
Rickey.org – Rank: 12,755 (139 links from 104 sites)
Yugatech.com – Rank: 26,526 (82 links from 64 sites)
Will add more as I find them. Feedster’s Top500 has some indeterminable formula for their ratings so we can’t extrapolate how a pinoy blog would fare in their ranking system.

Migs says:
Michelle Malkin isn’t counted as a Pinoy blog? LOL
Abe Olandres says:
Sounds western yung name eh. :D
“Malkin, the daughter of Filipino immigrants, was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1970 and raised in southern New Jersey.”
Rickey says:
Michelle Malkin, OMG, I can’t believe she’s of Filipino descent! Nakakahiya, I feel like peeling the skin of my bones. She’s one of those talking heads that I truly despise. It’s clear that she’s an Ann Coulter-wannabee… and of all the people to emulate, but she’s such a light-weight, it’s almost as if she has no clue how handicapped she is. She once challenged Chris Matthews and fell completely on her face and was the laughing stock of the Internet for a few days. I hate her. No, I just think she’s stupid, but I’m angered at all the attention she’s been getting by being annoying.
Abe Olandres says:
@ Rickey
As they say “Bad publicity is still publicity”.
Migs says:
Another one. Jason de Villa aka “Accordion Guy”
markku says:
Migs, it should be Joey, not Jason. Jason is the local writer, right? ;)
markku says:
Yuga, you’ve got to add rebelpixel.com – Technorati Rank: 4,800 (264 links from 203 sites)
;)
Abe Olandres says:
Just did. Still on crappy dial-up kase kaya I forgot to add the obvious. hehehe ;)
Kates says:
Yugs, bakit la pa rin bang dsl? Baka ayaw ka nang kabitan tinira mo kasi ng todo eh.
Migs says:
Oops.
Wow, a Pinoy based in the Philippines! Congrats Markku.
Now if only I could get more people to link up…
markku says:
Yuga, thanks pre. Migs, thanks din. Btw, don’t take technorati too seriously, remember that it ranks popularity based on fresh links, which isn’t the only parameter for determining a worthwhile weblog. ;)
Sassy says:
migs, “Michelle Malkin isn’t counted as a Pinoy blog?”
Buti na lang may LOL at the end.
rickey, i’m sure you read malkin’s article on angelo de la cruz? the milksops article? hehehehe yeah she’s of pinoy ancestry.
markku, is technorati still alive? past 2 weeks everytime i check who links to me parating cannot process request.
markku says:
Technorati is still alive, I guess. ;) I just find it really hard to do some queries, maybe they’re now too famous that they’re hardly coping with the traffic coming their way.
Abe Olandres says:
Maybe it’s a good thing if Google will eventually buy them (as rumored). That should give them a speed boost. :D
Sassy says:
Di ba it was bought by a business firm from its developer? Instead of getting better, it just got worse. Splashy nga layout, di naman maka-process ng request.
hoop says:
buy technorati?
so that’s where there going to use the $4 billion they’re putting up :-)
http://news.com.com/Where+will+Google+spend+its+extra+4+billion/2100-1030_3-5841140.html?tag=nefd.top
factor in also that they’re trying to expand into instant messaging and mobile networks. I wonder then how much they can bid for it
:-)
