Huawei has expanded its flagship tablet portfolio with the launch of the Huawei MatePad Pro 2026. Serving as a streamlined twin to its high-end Pro Max sibling (much like Apple’s twin-sized iPad Pro tablets), the new slate prioritizes portable productivity – shaving down dimensions to an ultra-thin 4.7mm profile while weighing just 439 grams. If true, that would make it one of the lightest 12-inch tablets on the market.

Up front, the device utilizes an updated 12-inch flexible 3036×1952 OLED display with a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It supports AI HDR and can reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness. Content consumption should be a treat – especially with the Huawei Sound audio system installed within the device.

The surface is coated with Huawei’s anti-glare PaperMatte screen coating, engineered to eliminate surface reflections during heavy outdoor or stylus-driven workflows.

Meanwhile, the device introduces a revised aesthetic on the rear – adopting a circular camera housing alongside a lightweight full-metal unibody. Optics here will likely be a 50-megapixel arrangement on the rear and a 12-megapixel selifie shooter up front.

It’s not just the shell getting noticeable upgrades, but what’s under the hood as well. This slate is powered by Huawei’s new Kirin T93 chipset, paired with systemic thermal improvements to maintain high-sustained clock speeds during continuous multi-window multitasking. Storage options go as high as 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Keeping the lights on is a 10,400 mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.
Software duties are handled by HarmonyOS out of the box, offering PC-level office software compatibility alongside enhanced creativity apps like GoPaint. It introduces Dual Desktop as well, allowing users to quickly switch between desktop modes with a library of supported PC applications. Online productivity should be swift, with WiFi 7+ onboard.
The debut colorways of the Huawei Matepad Pro 2026 differ across sources, but some we have are: Feather Light Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink, Sakura Pink Gold, Floating White, and Bright Moon Silver. It features full integration with the third-generation Huawei M-Pencil stylus and native magnetic smart keyboard accessories.
Official pricing and regional rollout schedules for global markets, including the Philippines, are expected to be detailed by Huawei shortly.
