LG Smart Light Bulb announced in South Korea

Listen to article

LG Electronics has just announced its first Smart Light Bulb that can be controlled using your Android or iOS device.

According to LG, the LED-powered smart bulb, or ‘LG smart lighting’, is a better replacement to your home’s traditional incandescent bulbs because of its energy saving properties. In addition, it can also last for more than 10 years if turned on for 5 hours a day.

Since it can be controlled using an Android or iOS device, you can also configure the Smart Bulb to work with your alarm so it will slowly light up your room as you approach your wake up time. Other key features include a ‘Security Mode’ that lights up your home on a specific schedule when you’re away, and a ‘Play Mode” that links with your smartphone’s music player so it can blink in sync to the tune for a party atmosphere.

The LG Smart Light Bulb costs 35,000 won each or almost Php1,500.

I visited both the herald square location and the soho location and let me tell you the staff and service are extremely different. The staff at the soho location are so nice and friendly. When I first went in I was quite confused because it was my first time visiting this store. No one greeted me or asked if I needed help. But then I walked downstairs and Tiffany was so friendly and quickly asked if I needed help with anything. I told her I was interested in a certain item and she took them out
