0:00Infinix has cooked up something new in its
0:01Note lineup, and that’s the Infin Note
0:03Edge 5G. Based on its looks alone, the
0:06naming scheme wouldn’t make sense at
0:07first, but taking a closer look at what
0:09this phone can do, you’ll realize it
0:11really does the edge, especially on
0:13things that really matter in day-to-day
0:14use. It boasts that nice 3D curve 1.5K
0:16display, the new MediaTek Dimensity 7100
0:195G chipset, and a large 6,500 mAh
0:22battery, all packed in an ultras slim
0:23frame. As a Gen Z myself, I’m pretty
0:25sure this is the kind of phone that can
0:27keep up with every Gen Z user’s need.
0:29From daily commutes to entertainment and
0:31gaming, the Infin Note Edge has you
0:33covered. That said, we have listed five
0:35of our most favorite features so far to
0:37give you a better idea on how the phone
0:39performs in real life. I’m your host,
0:41Earl, and drop that intro.
0:47Before we get to the bits, let’s all
0:49first appreciate how this phone looks.
0:51Design-wise, I must say this thing slap.
0:53This unit in particular comes in a silk
0:55green color way. And as the name
0:56suggests, it has this silk-like texture,
0:59almost faux leather, giving it a unique
1:00look and feel. You also have more
1:02options with lunar titanium, shadow
1:04black, and stellar blue. Not to mention
1:06the aesthetic here is visually cohesive.
1:08The way how the shamferred edges match
1:09the rounded corners of the camera module
1:11down to the lenses. It’s the consistency
1:14in the design that made me like this
1:15phone. And notice the active halo ring
1:17over here. Aside from adding a bit of
1:19character, it’s also functional since it
1:22dynamically lights up to notification,
1:24calls, and media playback. I also like
1:26how thin the phone is, measuring only
1:287.2 mm. And despite how slim it is,
1:31Infin still managed to throw in a large
1:336,500 mAh battery. That said, its build
1:36quality feels solid, especially with the
1:38addition of IP65 rating. Mind you,
1:40that’s flagship leather protection right
1:42there, providing resistances to ingress
1:44of dust and water jets. points for
1:46comfort, too, as it features a curved
1:48edge design from both the front and rear
1:50panels. So, it adds a more comfortable
1:52grip despite the large screen size.
1:54Speaking of the screen, the Note Edge
1:55delivers a superb visual experience. The
1:58phone sports a 6.78 in 3D curve AMOLED
2:00display with 1.5K resolution and a
2:03smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. You can
2:05appreciate the uniform bezels all
2:06around. And as expected of a high
2:08resolution screen, every detail looks
2:10sharp with vivid colors and satisfying
2:12deep black. Users like me who always
2:14watch movies and TV shows on the go are
2:16definitely in for a treat. The screen
2:17peaks up to 4,500 nits for HDR content,
2:20so you won’t have any problems using the
2:22phone outdoors. The JBL Tuning also adds
2:25a bit more of audio fidelity, making the
2:27viewing experience more immersive.
2:29Another thing to appreciate is how
2:30surprisingly capable its camera is.
2:32Well, at least from the rear. The Note
2:34Edge features a 50 megapixel main
2:35shooter and it did pretty good capturing
2:38images with nice clarity, near accurate
2:40colors, and decent dynamic range.
2:42[music]
2:46And are you familiar with live photos?
2:48It’s essentially one of Jenz’s favorite
2:50snaps to take. And I’m happy to report
2:52that the Infinix Note Edge is the first
2:54model in the lineup to have this
2:55feature.
2:59So, that’s one fun way to express
3:01yourself using this phone. You know what
3:02else is new to the Note Edge? It’s
3:04definitely the all new XOS 16. Yep, the
3:07phone ships with the latest version of
3:08Android with Android 16, [music] and it
3:10gets tons new visual updates that look
3:12sleek. In my opinion, Infinix nailed the
3:14inspired look here with a combination of
3:16depth, shadows, gradients, and
3:17glass-like design in certain places.
3:20Perhaps that consistency in physical
3:21design also extends in software, too.
3:23First-p partyy apps like the dialer,
3:25gallery, file manager, and notes app
3:27have similar interfaces that add points
3:29for consistency and software experience.
3:31Not going to lie, it’s quite impressive
3:33how nicely done XOS 16 has recreated
3:36that specific inspired look. Infin is
3:38also making a bold move to extend its
3:40software support. From the usual 2 plus
3:423 update policy, the brand is now
3:43promising up to three major OS upgrades
3:46and 5 years of security patches for the
3:48Note Edge. In other words, it will get
3:50to as far as XOS 19 or Android 19.
3:53That’s a step in the right direction
3:55that adds confidence to the Note Edge
3:56and its longevity for years to come.
3:59That same confidence also applies to how
4:01long the battery would last. Infin
4:02claims the Note Edge will still retain
4:04more than 80% of battery capacity even
4:07after 2,000 full charge cycles. I won’t
4:09explain the science behind all these,
4:11but essentially Infin deploys some
4:13self-healing technology to significantly
4:15reduce long-term battery degradation, so
4:18the battery stays healthy in the long
4:19run, even after 6 years. So, there’s
4:21that. In terms of battery life, the Note
4:23Edge almost disappointed us. We
4:25mentioned before in our full review that
4:26its battery life was underwhelming, and
4:29now it’s a different story this time
4:30around. After we did some stuff to
4:32optimize the battery and our usage, we
4:34fortunately got better results. In our
4:36second PC Mark battery life test, the
4:38phone lasted almost 16 hours or 15 hours
4:41and 51 minutes to be exact, which is a
4:43more sensible up time for a battery of
4:45this capacity. In real world use, the
4:47phone lasted even longer in our
4:48experience, which included watching
4:50videos on YouTube, scrolling on socials,
4:52and even gaming on the side. Speaking of
4:54gaming, the Note Edge also did a good
4:56job for light and casual gaming at
4:58least. Notably, this phone is the very
5:00first phone powered by the MediaTek
5:01Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, which offers
5:05optimal and efficient performance for
5:06daily use. The phone ran our go-to game,
5:08Mobile Legends, consistently at 90
5:11frames per second with no obvious lags
5:12and dips. And if you’re mostly using
5:14mobile network to play games, then the
5:16Note Edge will not disappoint thanks to
5:18a better 5G performance, which we’ll
5:20talk about next. What’s really
5:21interesting about this phone is it’s
5:23capable to deliver a true 5G experience
5:25that’s on par with a flagship despite
5:27its affordable pricing. It means that
5:29this phone gets stronger 5G signals
5:31anywhere, be it inside malls or
5:33underground areas. Thanks to what
5:34Infinix calls UPS 3.0 AI super signal
5:37technology. We experienced this
5:38firsthand when we tried connecting to
5:40mobile network in our office where we
5:42mainly relied on fiber connection
5:44because the signal reception here sucks.
5:46With the Note Edge 5G connectivity
5:48stayed reliable throughout, which means
5:49that even in a heat of a ranked match in
5:51Mobile Legends, Honor of Kings, or
5:53whatever you’re playing, you can be sure
5:55that your ping won’t dip, especially
5:57during team fights. And those are some
6:00of our most favorite features from the
6:02new Infinix Note Edge. With a starting
6:04price of 12,999 pesos, it feels like the
6:07Note Edge doesn’t try to reinvent what
6:09the mid-range phone should look like. It
6:11just executes the fundamentals really
6:13well. You’re getting a slim, well-th
6:14thought of design, a great display,
6:17dependable battery life, and
6:18surprisingly strong 5G performance, an
6:21extended software support, and the Note
6:23Edge becomes an easy recommendation for
6:24users who care more about day-to-day
6:26reliability than spec sheet flexing.
6:28[music]
6:29It’s not perfect, but for its price, it
6:31does more right than wrong. And that’s
6:33where it earns its edge over the
6:34competition. Again, the Infin Note Edge
6:37starts at 12,999 pesos, and that price
6:40is exclusively available on Tik Tok. You
6:42also get the Infinix XE26 earbuds as a
6:45freebie. It will also go on sale via
6:46Shopee, Lazada, and Infin official
6:48website for 13,999 pesos. Orders here
6:52will include a free Infinix insulated
6:53tumbler instead of the buds. It retails
6:55for 14,999 pesos. Adding to that, you
6:58also have the chance to win concert
7:00tickets to 17, an Infinix GT laptop, or
7:03an international trip to Chongqing for
7:04two packs. Check out the promo mechanics
7:06right here. But what about you? What do
7:10you think of the Infin Note Edge 5G?
7:12Will you get this anytime soon? [music]
