The existing stats tool being enjoyed by all WordPress.com users can now be used by hosted WordPress.org bloggers.
Just download the simple WP plugin here, activate and enter your WordPress.com API key which is basically the same as your Akismet key (so no problem there).
Stats tracking is done remotely by the Automattic servers so this additional analytics tool won’t add a blip of stress to your own server or web host. One drawback though is that the stats will be tied up to your WordPress.com account. So, clicking on the BlogStats link from your Dashboard will redirect you to your WordPress.com Dashboard.
Not much of a hassle but I’d prefer it shown on my own Dashboard.
