Globe ships 100k units, 128GB Gold iPhone 6 still most requested

The 128GB Gold version of the iPhone 6 is still the most requested SKU of Apple’s smartphone this year, according to Globe representatives during the official launch at midnight last night.

Globe is also expecting to complete its shipment of more than 100,000 units of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus by the end of the year as demand for Apple’s smartphone continue to grow.

Close to 200 subscribers lined up last night at the Globe Tower waiting for their new iPhone 6 by midnight.

Globe’s order of more than 100,000 iPhones is led by huge demand for the 128GB Gold model, majority of which were already reserved by Platinum subscribers who are eligible to get them for free on recontracting (Globe has about 40,000 Platinum subscribers). The second most in-demand model is the 64GB Space Gray.

About 10,000 people signed up for the pre-order of the iPhone 6 on Globe’s website.

The numbers we got is just in line with last year’s numbers as reported to the NTC.

Globe imported 95,580 iPhones consisting of 58,680 iPhone 5s and 36,900 iPhone 5c by December 31, 2013 last year while Smart shipped 56,430 units consisting of 35,520 iPhone 5s and 20,910 of the iPhone 5c.

dati naman hindi nangyayari ang ganito, nung nauso lang iphone at smartphone wars tsaka naging issue yung mga may pambili at wala. Haha. nung panahon ni nokia , kapag may nseries ka na para ka nang nakaiphone. manakawan ka lang ng n70 , para ka nang nalugi.

Hindi naman masama bumili, pero dapat iconsider din kung ano ang mga bagay na dapat unahin paglaanan ng pera, kasi pinaghihirapan yun at di basta basta nakukuha, hindi naman lahat pinanganak na mayaman. ang mahalaga masaya ka at wala kang kaaway.

Aaminin ko, iphone(2007) pa lang gusto ko na magkaroon. 6 na siya ngayon wala parin ako . Haha. although pwede naman bumili pero student pa lang kasi ako so unahin ko nalang yung pera para sa studies ko. :)

@ nokia 3310…. I like your set of priorities in life and don’t knock off your phone. It was the best Nokia phone release of all time. Iphone 8 is just around the corner, and by the time Iphone 12 rolls around you would have finished your schooling.
When only few can afford to buy Iphones in our country, the supply will never end. It was just amusing to see 200 people lining up to buy them when the supply is like 100K in stock.
People in the States lined up to buy Iphones but mostly they were teenagers and high school students. What’s funny is that I don’t see any teenager in the picture at Globe.
Quick question- 200 lined up, but how many actually bought the Apple device?

Kapag lumabas ang Apple 7 for sure baba nanaman ang price ng Appble 6. Nabasa ko somewhere nalalabas ang Iphone 7 sa July-August 2015.

About 40000 lang pala ang platinum subscribers ng Globe pero hindi pa rin nila maayos ang LTE connection nila? May gana pa silang mamigay ng free internet? Unahin muna nila yung mga post paid payers bago yung mga squatter na papiso piso lang mag internet.

Premium phone my ass. Cheap TLC Nand flash ang gamit nila, 3 dollars lang yun compared sa top of the line Samsung flash storage. Yang ips glass nila? ?4 dollars lang yan, sobrang mura kesa sa gorilla glass. Hindi sila nagsapphire glass dahil liliit kita nila 1800mAh battery circa 2011. At yung body design at iOS8? Meizu Mx3 at FlymeUi ang nauna diyan. Masyado kayong nagpapauto sa Apple, lahat ng ipambabayad ninyo ay mapupunta lang sa marketing at promotion. Ganun kadami ang utu utong iDiot. rip off na ang product binibili pa rin dahil mas mataba ang wallet kesa utak.
