Most PC users would know what Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V but there’s actually way more shortcuts you might actually come in handy sometime. Here’s a whole bunch of them and do let us know which ones and how many you actually memorize and use.
Esc – Cancel current task
Ctrl + A – Select All
Ctrl + C – Copy
Ctrl + X – Cut
Ctrl + W – Close tab
Ctrl + Z or Alt + Backspace – Undo last operation
Ctrl + Y or Shift + Alt + Backspace – Redo last operation
Ctrl + Right Arrow – Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next word
Ctrl + Left Arrow – Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word
Ctrl + Up Arrow – Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next paragraph
Ctrl + Down Arrow – Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous paragraph
Ctrl + F4 – Close active documents in the program
Ctrl + F5 – Force refesh
Ctrl + Esc – Display the Start Menu
Ctrl + Tab – Go to the next tab
Ctrl + Shift + N – Open private window (browser), creates a new folder (Windows Explorer)
Ctrl + Shift + T – Open previously closed tab
Ctrl + Shift + Tab – Opens previous tab
F2 – Rename file or selected item
F3 – Search file or folder
F5 – Update active window or refresh
F6 – Cycle thru screen elements in a window or desktop or go to address bar (when in browser)
F10 – Activate the Menu bar
Alt + Enter – View properties of selected item
Alt + F4 – Quit active window/program
Alt + Space Bar – Open the shortcut menu for the active window
Alt + Tab – Switch between open windows/items/programs
Alt + Esc – Cycle thru the items according to the order they’ve been opened
Shift + Delete – Delete the file permanently, skip the Recycle Bin
Windows Key + L – Lock desktop
Windows M or Windows D – Minimize all windows
