OnePlus President Louis Lee released an unboxing video of the upcoming OnePlus 15. This is the first official look at the device ahead of its launch in China.

As per the video, they’re set to keep their signature red box. The contents include the smartphone, an adapter, a red cable, and a matching case.
The phone’s Sand Storm colorway is given emphasis along with the device’s construction and finish. This color option uses a new micro-arc oxidation process applying a ceramic-like coating over the metal frame.
While hardware details were kept under wraps, reports have already suggested a few specs. This includes a 6.78-inch BOE X3 display with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz.
Powering it will be the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 7,300mAh battery. It will support 120W of wired fast charging and 50W of wireless charging.

For optics, OnePlus will be dropping their Hasselblad-tuned imaging system as per our previous report. Instead, they’ll be using their newly-developed DetailMax Engine.
This will consist of a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main, a 3.5x telephoto, and a 15mm ultra wide. However, the company has yet to confirm the OnePlus 15’s release date.
The current expected date is to be on October 27 in China. We’ll update readers for any further developments to this story.
