Asus confirms Memo Pad HD 7, starts at $129

Listen to article

This is probably the most exciting revelation to us in this year’s Computex since it’s the one which we predicted to be true from our last week’s rumor/leak — the Asus Memo Pad HD 7.

The Memo Pad HD 7 technically succeed’s Asus’ Nexus 7 device in partnership with Google.

Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 specs:
7.0 inch IPS LCD display @ 1280×800 pixels, 215ppi
Mediatek 1.5GHz quad-core processor
1GB RAM
8GB and 16GB internal storage
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
5MP rear camera
1.2MP front-facing camera
Asus Sonic Master Audio
Android Jellybean 4.2
120.6 x 196.8 x 10.8mm (dimensions)
302 grams (weight)

The device is only 302g light and has a very similar form factor as the old model. We were also correct with our prediction of colors — black, white, blue, pink and yellow. Battery life is up to 10 hours.

Asus is planning to sell the 16GB model for $149 and a limited 8GB model for $129 to be released in emerging markets this July 2013.
