Sony announces its latest digital camera for vlogging, the Sony ZV-1. Weighing at just 294g, it is the first compact camera from the brand with a side-opening, vari-angle LCD display.

The ZV-1 features a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and is powered by the latest BIONZ X image processor. It is capable of recording 4K videos and has built-in image stabilization.

To indicate that a video is being recorded, the Sony ZV-1 now comes with a light indicator and a large record button located at the front and top of the camera. It ships with a directional 3-capsule mic that minimizes background noise, a standard 35mm mic jack and Multi Interface Shoe for connecting external microphones, and a wind screen for minimizing wind interference.

Among the highlights of the camera includes Bokeh Switch located at the top for easier adjustment of aperture, real-time eye autofocus and tracking for videos, Face Priority AE for optimizing exposure of subjects, Super Slow Motion recording up to 960 fps, and Interval Shooting for stunning time-lapse videos.

In terms of stabilization, the camera reduces shaking up to 8 times when recording 4K videos through Optical SteadyShot and up to 11 times when recording in HD.

It is also compatible with the Sony Bluetooth wireless shooting grip GV-VPT2BT and edits videos in the suggested dimensions for Instagram from the Imaging Edge mobile app.

The Sony ZV-1  will be available soon in the Philippines. Stay tuned for its local pricing and availability.
