Inq7.net celebrates its 5th year anniversary with a new blog and podcast among others. Joey Alarilla is the man behind the idea and he’s inviting readers join the Inq7.net anniversary blog.
Hi, I’m Joey Alarilla, one of the editors of INQ7.net and the guy responsible for conceptualizing and overseeing this anniversary site. Obviously, the INQ7 @ 5 anniversary site is the result of a lot of team effort, and I’d like to thank everyone at INQ7.net, particularly our hardworking Tech team, for making this a reality. I’m just the guy to blame if you find something you don’t like, heh.
I think this blog is just for their 5th anniversary and will not be used as their official or corporate blog since contributors will consist of regular readers of the news site. One can just register and share their own insights and experiences about Inq7 thru the years. As expected, blog entries and comments will be moderated but it could be tedious once they get comments and entries in the hundreds, maybe even thousands.
Anyway, I’m not sure if they noticed it but the blog layout is screwed up both on IE and Firefox (1024×768) — the side navigation bar on the left is pushed way down.
WordPress should be proud Inq7.net is using their FOSS. *tehehe*

The layout is going bonkers on 800×600 as well. Maybe they need the services of a CSS enthusiast? Ahem.. ;)
And while they’re at it, I suggest they use mod_rewrite for clean permalinks.

hi yuga, thanks for the plug, and for the heads up re: the right nav bar.
my bad, screwed up an html tag in one of the entries.
cheers,
joey

Agreed, INQ7 should use clean permalinks, if only to fix Technorati linkback checking. Additional PageRank for INQ7 pages – which link to our blogs – is good as well!
Would also be good if INQ7 could let people blog straight from the news article. For people who don’t have blogs, INQ7 could host their blog.
