Let me get my hands wet with this blog auction thing….
I am currently accepting bids for a 3-year old blog with Google PR 6. This blog is one of the most well-known Filipino blogs around and has been consistently mentioned in several local newspapers and publications including international ones like Reader’s Digest. A top blog in its own arena and very well linked to. See some stats below:
Search Engine Listings
The site averages 10,000 pageviews from 2,000 unique visitors a day so you could see repeat readership is quite high (5 pageviews per visitor). Over 2,000 posts have been made in the last 3 years. This blog doesn’t really earn much on advertising except for the occasional Blog Ads. The sale does not include the contents though, just the domain.
The owner is contemplating on pursuing a different niche or focus so might as well offer the domain to someone else who can monetize it or something and turn it profitable.
That’s all the clue I can give out for now. If you’re seriously interested to bid for this domain, send me an email at abeolandres {at} gmail {dot} com with the subject “Blog for Sale”.

twocarlo says:
wow…instant business i should have blog earlier. do you think blogging could replace the jobs of web designers/developers. because i think blogging is cheaper to maintain and their are so many more reasons,etc..
Manuel Viloria says:
Whoa… PR6, and it less than 1,000 visitors a day? Doesn’t sound like Sassy nor Yuga.
Anyway, the blog is not for sale. It’s just the domain name. It would be interesting to see what will happen to the PR once the content disappears and other web sites stop linking to it.
Yuga, is the blog made by someone who’s into literature? :-)
What’s the minimum bid price?
hoop says:
starts with an “r”? :D
Abe Olandres says:
I updated the blog stats above.
AhmedF says:
This is absolutely ridiculous.
There is a bubble going on. VCs are throwing money at anything ‘web 2.0’, of which blogs seem to be a popular subset. BlogHerald worth $72k? You have got to be kidding me.
meh people are gonna get hurt.
mell ditangco says:
if this blog for sale is the Sassy lawyer… I will stop visiting it, I go to that site because of what Connie Veneracion writes and nothing else…
Say it aint so…
this IS too upsetting…
Abe Olandres says:
Sorry for the confusion. It’s just the domain that is for sale and not the content.
My guess is that the sale would primarily focus on those who believe it still has some SEO value.
mell ditangco says:
lol… :D i just reread my comment, napaover ata ang drama!
gani says:
doesn’t make sense to me. you visit a site not for the name but for the content (esp for blogs).
Abe Olandres says:

mell ditangco says:
it is the sassy lawyer, just saw her post at the party blog.
in short she is going to stop posting about politics.
now I am sad.
Manuel Viloria says:
Hmmm… HouseOnAHill.net only gets 2,000 visitors a day? I don’t remember what her stats were like exactly (Sassy posted some graphs before), but it looked much higher than 2K visitors a day.
anonymous says:
since you are just selling the domain and not including the content, this figures you mention is useless
# Google: 41,000
# MSN Search: 24,665
# Yahoo: 70,100
checking on the backlinks, most of them are also blog sites, which eventually the blog owner will remove the link, once they’ve found out that this is no longer the original blog they’ve linked before. This would mean that the PR6 ranking will go down. Just curious, i assume that this blog is linked to this website, would you retain/remove the link, once you have already sold it to a buyer?
Abe Olandres says:
I may have over 2 dozen links to that blog from this website, most of them within the content. There’s no way I can check each entry (unless manually) and remove the link even if I wanted to. Those links will have to stay.
Sassy says:
Manuel, remember that the food blog used to be a subdomain of houseonahill.net. It has it’s own domain now and the stats have been separate for over a year.
Houseonahill.net used to get 5000+ per day with all the blogs as subdomains. That was cut in about half when pinoycook.com was registered.
Of course, that’s just to address your issue about the stats. Am not saying the domain for sale is mine. :-P
Manuel Viloria says:
Thanks, Sassy. Bigla akong nabuhayan! :-)
Miguel says:
What happened to this project?
david says:
Hi,

Kind regards,
arun says:

Philippine Website Developers says:
Monetization is an important thing. Perhaps the owner of the site thought selling it would be the best monetization. Traffic should convert to cash.
batanggenyo says:
wow..ano kayang site ng blog na yon at magkano ang offer…
