LTFRB approves PHP 2.00 jeepney fare hike

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved the PHP 2.00 fare hike, increasing the minimum jeepney fare to PHP 10.00.

The LTFRB recently approved the PHP 2.00 permanent jeepney fare hike for the NCR, Region 3, at Region 4-A, in response to the petition that transport groups filed in September 2017. In July 2018, the LTFRB approved a PHP 1.00 provisional fare hike, raising the minimum fare from PHP 8.00 to PHP 9.00.

Now that the PHP 2.00 fare hike has been approved, the provisional increase will no longer take effect, thus the minimum fare will be PHP 10.00. The decision shall be effective 15 days after publication in a newspaper of general and/or local circulation, which is in November 2018.
