HMD launches the Watch X1 and Watch P1

Listen to article

HMD has silently introduced two new smartwatches to its expanding wearable line, introducing the Watch X1 and the Watch P1. Both smartwatches are designed for fitness tracking and battery life, rather than a full-fledged smartwatch experience.

Leading the pair is the HMD Watch X1, which comes with a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display boasting a crisp 466 × 466 resolution and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. The device is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance and boasts an impressive battery life of up to five days on a single charge. It also tracks various health and fitness aspects, including heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep patterns, and over 700 sport modes, in addition to basic reminders for inactivity and drinking.

The Watch P1, on the other hand, comes with a larger 1.83-inch rectangular LCD display with a lower 284 × 240 resolution and a maximum brightness of 550 nits.

Neither of the two smartwatches features GPS or NFC connectivity, which means that most functions are dependent on a smartphone connection. HMD has not yet revealed any information regarding the pricing and availability of both smartwatches.

HMD Watch X1 specs:

• 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display
• 600 nits
• IP68 dust and water resistance

HMD Watch P1 specs:

• 1.83-inch rectangular LCD display
• 550 nits
